Recently I have gotten back into map making for Team Fortress 2. Maps are made using a program called Hammer, which is free for steam users to download and install. Below are a couple of screenshots from a map I working on called cp_orange_compound. This map has been created with a specific server in mind, and is meant to be played with lowered gravity. The orange and gray textures and large blocky shapes are an aesthetic which has developed from people making maps using the Dev Textures included in Hammer.
I have also been working on a Jump Map. Jump maps are challenges the player has to navigate using rocket jumps – Firing rockets at the ground and using the explosion to propel you in the correct direction.
I will continue to post my progress with these maps as they develop. You can see some of my older attempts at TF2 Mapping on my Steam Screenshots page.
Here are a couple of pictures from the Game Jam I competed in for the third time in October this year. This time we made a game similar to Doodle Jump, but with extra features like a 2 player “race” mode.
We made it through the first round to the final 8 this time, and had to present our game to the judges and other competitors:

A project I’ve been working on. a more balanced take on cp_orange_x3
As of yesterday I have finished all of my university work for the year. I’ve got a few more weeks in my house before I need to make the trip home, and plenty of games to be playing (including max payne 3 on pre-order).
Looking forward to having some more free time, i’ve got a few projects in my head that are going to be fun to put some time into 😀
